He received his bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University in 1983 and 1986, and his PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence in System Control from the Technical University of Compiegne, France in 1996. From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Calgary, Canada. From 1999 to 2018, he was a Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow and Principal Investigator at the National Research Institute of Canada. He is also editor-in-chief of IET CIM and deputy editor of IEEE TSMC, TASE and other magazines. His research interests mainly include collaborative design and manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, production scheduling, Internet of Things, big data, agent theory and application.He has published over 450 papers in scientific journals and international conferences in the related areas, among which more than 200 papers have been indexed by SCI, more than 12,000 times cited on Google papers (of which a single paper has been cited more than 900 times), with an H-index of 52.
Per Johnsson is the Founder and CTO of JWI Software, a pioneering leader in industrial software innovation in China, and the first company globally to launch a fully cloud-native Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. With a strong background at technology powerhouses like IBM and PTC, he has played a key role in driving large-scale business transformations across Europe, Asia, and China.
Mr. Johnsson holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, where he developed a solid foundation in engineering principles and advanced technologies. He also earned an Executive MBA from the University of Western Ontario, equipping him with the strategic insight necessary to lead at the intersection of technology and business.
His latest venture is focused on revolutionizing the CAD industry, leveraging AI to transcend the limitations of traditional CAD tools.

He has 32 years of experience in the field of intelligent manufacturing and has provided IT consulting services for hundreds of enterprises. He got his Ph.D. degree of mechanical engineering in 1997 at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He got senior management certificate from RPI (Renssellaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY) in 2001.
